#2 Flint-Harvested Cicada Shells

My son collected over 20 of these shells over the summer of 2011 from the bases of trees in our neighborhood. Either you love the mysterous life of the cicada, or you down right hate these ugly monsters. I shot this image with one Canon 580 EXII on the floor as the main light. I wanted to show off the transparency of the shell as well as show the group of others in the back.
