#7 North Down Brush Alley

This is a northbound shot of Brush Alley in the middle of the night. It was our first "good" snowfall of 2011. I absolutely love the negative space created with the sky. It makes the buildings look larger than life.

Back around 2002 I took an internship required for high school graduation and worked for Matt Zacks, where I was assigned the design project for the Ruth Mott Foundation website (I must have done a good job - they use the same design today!). Matt also published one of Flint's few alternative newspapers: The Uncommon Sense. I eventually moved into doing all of the graphic work for the newspaper for the next three years. The entrance to the office was through a basement door in this alley, so this place, in a way, represents my beginnings in thefeild of web development and print design.
